The Island of the Blood Sea TowerUnder Construction currentlyAt the end of the Tower's first life, when the last Kingpriest carried out his promise, and the gods sent the Cataclysm to punish his sins, the Tower’s troubled history came to an end. During the Cataclysmic earthquakes, the Tower was badly damaged. Fire swept through the halls. By the time the burning mountain fell, smashing the Great Temple and sending Istar to the bottom of the sea, the Tower was a ruin, and there it set. Across ages... After the betrayal his mother wrought with her War of Souls, completely unsettled by the depths of her deception, Nuitari secretly rebuilt the tower to be a stronghold and named it thus, as the Tower of the Blood Sea. The holy artifacts survived the cataclysm, and Nuitari kept them in the Chamber of Relics (Known as Solio Febalas — the Hall of Sacrilege in the time of Beldinas Pilofiro), which was guarded by the Sea Dragon Midori at the request of the Dark Prince. The Sea Dragon left in a huff when it discovered a hidden truth. During a meeting of Three, Nuitari and the other two gods of magic agreed to let him patron the new tower, and in return they would each get to patron the other two surviving two. In 422 AC, Mina raised the tower so that it rests on an island, and all other gods are barred from entry. Shortly after raising the tower, Mina entered the Solio Febalas and left with two artifacts. The High God then took the Hall and all its contents. Nuitari reclaimed his tower from Mina after she left it on her journey to Godshome. The Island of the Tower of Blood Sea The space of the island area is approximately 75 square miles (Roughly 8.5 miles x 8.5 miles in a circle with a diameter of 9.8 miles)The Coastal Plain: A fertile ring of land, perhaps used for farming Coastal scrub and grasslands on the windward sideThe Outer Coast: A 30+ mile coastline featuring rocky cliffs to the west, north, and east. A Large Cove that serves as the Port, with white sandy beaches also to be found to the south, and a mangrove swamp. Do not approach the swamp. The Tower and its Grove occupy at least one square mile in the center of the island https://thedamnforum.createaforum.com/karnea-master-of-the-black-robe/history-and-recent-history-of-karnea/msg56/#msg56. The Tower could be seen on approach to the island from far around. It stands 400’ tall, and its pinnacle Towers add another 100’ to its final height. It looms above the port, even as it is 4 ½ miles away. A black 5’ high wall encircles the Tower and the grove. Four silver gates lined in the cardinal directions of North, East, South, and West. The dwarves set out to build natural defenses from the South Gate, such as switchbacks with ambush points on the road. The road leads to the walled town. Walled Town (Yet to be named)The Walled Town was brought into existence under the High Sanction of Nuitari during the closing events as depicted in Chapter Six: Gathering of the Black Robes https://thedamnforum.createaforum.com/karnea-master-of-the-black-robe/karnea-master-of-the-black-robe-34/msg201/#msg201 From there, Selene and Plainness Darkhammer have brought people whose backgrounds are most needed to create a sustaining, foundational chorus of professions that have come by ship, arriving at the Port, or being brought by magical means. The God of Dark Magic erected a black stone curtain wall with strategic defensive and offensive crenellations that nearly encompasses the island, leaving the parts of the island that are unapproachable due to natural sheer cliffs in the north and northwest, and in the south, it is open to the port. Large pylons in the bay have arms that could reach down, and a counterweight within the pylon will rip a ship violently upwards and smashed against the sea. They were magically designed by the Dark God Nuitari himself to serve as anti-ship countermeasures to help defend the bay. Spells can be cast by the Master of the Tower, utilizing the Black Stone itself as a extention of her powers. The building construction was in Black Stone for the streets, the buildings, the fountain squares, and a curtain wall encompassing 3/4th of the Island. The port on the South side of the island is open, but not undefended. Anti-ship defenses stand ready and watch over the Port as sentinels. Every building on the island will be required to have gutters with downspouts leading to rain barrels. All rainwater will be collected and transferred to a distilling facility to be purified. Wastewater from washing will be collected in a separate facility to be filtered and redistributed for non-drinking purposes. There will also be cisterns dug to collect more rainwater.Full Accounting of all the mentioned parks and other Parks and Statues in the Town:-Park of the Moons: Solinari, Lunitari, and Nuitari -Park of the Three: Corenthas, Eriane, and Shaud -The Founders of High Sorcery-Park of the Favored Ones: The Three gathered twenty-one wild mages together and taught them what they had learned from the Gods of Magic. A Candle Shop run by Bella Oakenflame is a recent addition to the town and the island. The entrepreneur worked out a deal with the apiary by collecting beeswax from the beehives. She then makes the wicks and melts the wax into forms, sells the candles, and gives a percentage back to the apiary. Purveyor of many kinds of candles, different colors, different styles, short, long, timed. The next store is a Seamstress/Tailor Shop for simple clothing and repairs, Fintan and Moria Mooncutter from the foothills of the Garnet Mountains from the northern reaches of Southund, in the Mercantile town of Luinstat. Fintan and Moria Mooncutter, Husband and wife, with assistants and family members. Their wares include peasant everyday clothes to finer dresses and gentlemen's apparel. This was an early addition to the town as Master Karnea saw a need for it. Once she decided to move Selene’s school to the island, she would need to outfit new students in the coming years. Also, the town and worker will just need a place to get their clothes altered or replaced. The next store is the Papermaker/bookbinder, run by brothers Brenn and Brenric Tallcastle and the Brenric family. It is a larger building and was one of the first businesses to open here as a part of Master Karnea’s desire to be self-sufficient for several important commodities. This building houses a full paper mill operation at the back of the building. Drying rooms and bookbinding operations take place on the second story. Currently, they are working on the cistern projects. The Forge Dwarven Ale Hall Bartender Bromor RockhartStables' stableboys are one of the many jobs that a young orphan could find himself doing for a duration of time before he is moved on to something else, and another comes in for a time. Their job is to tend the horses in their care when someone leaves a horse at the stable, feed and water it, and make sure there is fresh hay. The South Gate The Main Thoroughfare continues to the Port with hidden ambush points along the main road, built in advance in the name of Island and Tower Defense. Large brass braziers line both sides of the wide avenue, interspaced at sight intervals for night travel. The Land is barren between the Town and the Port (until later, the Hierophant Druid Talidaar coaxes life back to the island; soon, a variety of plant life sprouts from the new island).
